Schaff Piano Supply Company is revolutionizing the piano bench industry. This bench, which is made in the USA, adjusts to the pianist's preferred height with the push of a button that is conveniently located next to the adjustment knob.
The bench will cater to the experienced piano player who may want the convenience of easily adjusting a standard artist bench. For the concert pianist, there is no more struggling with the adjustment knobs in the middle of a concert performance; instead, adjustment can be done with the push of a button. The electric bench is also perfect for those who demand excellence in music furnishings.
What sets the bench apart is the fact that it does not need a constant power source. The bench comes with a 12-volt rechargeable battery, which will power the bench for hundreds of adjustments. The rechargeable process is very simple, but an integral part of the bench. To recharge the battery, simply connect the charger plug on the underside of the bench to a 110-volt AC power receptacle with a normal extension cord.
The bench is also equipped with a "clutch" for manual adjusting. This feature assures the user that the bench will always perform its primary objective for the piano player - height adjustment - even if the battery has been drained of its power. The clutch is activated by a solenoid that is activated by the main up-and-down switch. The clutch is in gear only when the bench is being operated electronically. At any time the user can manually adjust the bench by simply turning the knobs.
The heavy-duty motor that powers the bench is a durable and reliable two-pole stator motor.
Schaff has rigorously tested the motor in excess of 350 pounds.
